Michaela is a fourth-year honors student pursuing a B.S. in Biopsychology, as well as a B.A. in Biology within the College of Creative Studies, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her interest in neuroscience grew through invertebrate neurobiology and behavior research in the Smith Lab, and after taking a hormones and cognition course with Dr. Jacobs, she also became passionate about the intersection between cognitive neuroscience, endocrinology, and women’s health. In the Jacobs Lab, Michaela is excited to gain a deeper appreciation of the critical role of hormones in cognitive and reproductive aging processes. After completing her undergraduate education, she plans to continue studying neuroscience at the graduate level. In her free time, Michaela loves to surf, freedive, read, and drink green tea.
